This policy explains what data GazLabs collects, how Google AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies on this site, and the choices you have.
GazLabs (gazlabs.co.uk) is a personal project operated by a UK radio amateur, providing free tools and reference content for ham radio, hobby electronics, and related hobbies. For privacy enquiries, contact [add your contact email here].
This site shows adverts served by Google AdSense. To do this, Google and its advertising partners may set cookies or use similar technologies (such as device identifiers) on your device to serve ads, personalise the ads you see based on your visits to this and other sites, measure ad performance, and limit how many times you see a particular ad.
If you are located in the UK, the European Economic Area, or Switzerland, you will be asked to make choices about ad personalisation before any personalised ads are shown, in line with Google's consent requirements for these regions. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time.
You can also manage how Google uses data for ad personalisation generally, across all sites that use Google ads, at Google Ad Settings. Independent of any individual site, you can opt out of personalised advertising from participating companies via aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU/UK).
Google's own use of data is described in the "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" page and in Google's Privacy Policy.
Outside of advertising, GazLabs itself sets no tracking cookies. A theme preference (light/dark) is stored using your browser's localStorage — this stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Some pages record a basic, aggregated visit counter: a page view, and a one-way, daily-rotating hash of your IP address (never the IP address itself) used only to estimate unique visitors. This is not shared with any third party.
Several tools on this site fetch live data from third-party services to work — for example NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center, Celestrak, dxc.jo30.de, and OpenSky Network. Some of these requests are proxied server-side; where a request goes directly from your browser, that service receives your IP address as part of the normal HTTP request, in the same way any website you visit does.
GazLabs is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
If you are in the UK or EEA, you have rights under UK GDPR / GDPR relating to personal data, including the right to know what is held about you and to have it corrected or deleted where applicable. Because GazLabs itself holds only aggregated, non-identifying visit statistics, most personal data processing on this site (for ad personalisation) is carried out by Google as an independent data controller — see the links above to manage that directly with Google.
This policy may be updated from time to time, for example if the tools or advertising on this site change. The "last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision.
