TYT-UV 380 USB Driver Problems. **UPDATED May 23**

Updated: Apr 28, 2023

TYT KG-UV 380 USB Driver

It is quickly becoming apparent there is an issue with the drivers provided by TYT for their uv-380 via their website. (The drivers are completely useless) the issue is linked in some way to the “device in DFU mode error” as it’s the driver that fixes that issue also fixes the device not found/not connected/busy error message.

I found a link to a driver that in nearly every case of a UV-380 driver issue sorted the problem.

PLEASE NOTE: You are responsible for due diligence when downloading and installing software from a devastatingly scary place like the internet, its over to you to ensure the file is safe and free of virus like garbage! You have been warned. that being said….

To install it, un-zip the contents of the zip file to a folder on your desktop, the option to "install" will not be offered if you try to install the .inf file from your download folder!!. Now open the folder you have created and right click on the file sttube.inf: Scroll down the pop-up menu and select install, the process only takes a few seconds to complete, at this stage I would probably restart your PC without the radio or cable connected.

if you cant see the install option check you have admin rights, windows 11 users may need to right click and look at the bottom of the menu, there's "Show more Options". It'll show the Install prompt at the top. If the file is in your downloads folder the option to install will be missing!

Once your PC is back up plug the cable into the PC and open the TYT CPS and try reading the radio, it should now be fully working.

Have fun, let me know if it worked for you..
