Royal Enfield Himalayan 300Mile Service done!

I changed motorcycles to a Royal Enfield Himalayan October 2021 so the 300 mile break in period really came around in the depths of winter time here in the UK . I live in the leafy suburbs on the southern edge of London where it quickly became apparent there was a lack of RE dealers able to service my bike. I had lined up a service at the Bike Shed in Watford but was horrified to discover they apparently went out of business VERY suddenly the very month I wanted the Himalayan serviced; not good.. the dealer I purchased from was a 120 mile round trip so I reluctantly (because of the distance) booked with them JW Groombridge and braced myself for the break in speed trip via the back roads! it was about 3 days or so ahead of the trip I saw storm Eunice was heading in, the UK recorded its highest ever wind gust some 122Mph on Friday the 18th the very day my service was due, I cancelled.... At this point I was thinking I would have to do half the first service myself as I was now way past the 300Mile service point. I had the day booked off of work already and was about to cancel my leave request when my boss suggested Hatfield's Of Crowthorne, Oh boy did they come to the rescue and instead of 120 round trip it was a mere 40 miles there and back, I booked the service and they got me in on the day I had lined up. It was a bit of a hair raising journey however some debris dodging I made it there in one piece, I spent a couple of hours camped out in a Costa, met a lovely lady to chat with picked up the bike £30 less than I was expecting, and rode home in the now fully formed wind fest we lovingly called Eunice, there was nothing lovely about it..

So in conclusion, the RE Himalayan was a champ in all this, it was a pleasure (for the most part) making very easy work of the storm challenge, I was expecting to be blown all over the place but the Himalayan is a very sure footed motorcycle. If the servicing remains as low as it has been so far then I think this is a keeper I'd go as far as saying I love it.
